OMHU is a DTC brand that designs and sells iconic, multifunctional furniture. As a social-first, design-led and performance-driven brand, our iconic TEDDY sofa has gone viral across 24 markets, from Europe to the US.
Role Overview
The Design Assistant supports the design team across the full product development process - from early research and inspiration to concept development and execution.
You’ll work closely with the design, product and brand teams to ensure strong inputs, clear structure and consistent execution across projects.
You have design in your veins, a sharp eye for detail and a structured way of working. You contribute ideas, references and insights - and help turn them into clear, usable inputs for the team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Research & Inspiration
- Gather trends, references and insights into clear visual and material directions
- Support early-stage ideation through sketches, mock-ups and visual references
- Contribute to building strong concept foundations across projects
2. Design Process Support & Execution
- Assist across all phases of the design process - from research to prototype preparation
- Execute day-to-day design tasks across ongoing projects
- Support preparation of materials, presentations, and internal design assets
3. Product & Asset Coordination
- Maintain structure across files, materials and product data
- Ensure alignment between digital assets and physical products
- Support consistency across product details, finishes and visual outputs
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the design and product team on ongoing development
- Support the brand team with product-related preparation for photoshoots
- Help coordinate inputs across design, product, and brand
Requirements
- 1–2+ years of experience in furniture or product design (or strong internship experience)
- A degree in industrial or furniture design
- Strong understanding of materials, finishes and colour
- Ability to communicate ideas visually (sketches, layouts, references)
- Structured, detail-oriented and reliable way of working
- Strong interest in trends, culture and contemporary living
- Natural understanding of social media and visual culture
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign (Rhino and KeyShot are a plus)
- Curiosity about how AI can support workflows and efficiency
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Rhino, KeyShot or similar 3D tools
- AI interest & curiosity
