How to keep your sofa looking fresh for years
If you want to keep your sofa looking and feeling great for as long as possible, here are a few simple tips we recommend.
Vacuum:
Regularly vacuum the sofa using a flat vacuum nozzle. This helps remove dust and loose fibers that naturally settle on the fabric. It also refreshes the corduroy, helping it stay soft, fluffy, and looking its best.
Refresh the shape:
When it comes to the cushions, we suggest giving them a good shake and a bit of a “massage,” especially if they’ve flattened a bit after you've been sitting in your favorite spot for a long time. This helps the silicone filling bounce back and keeps the cushions in shape.
Even wear:
To ensure even wear, it’s a good idea to swap the mattresses now and then. Swap the top one with the bottom, and vice versa. You can also rotate them 180 degrees, so the part that’s usually covered by corner cushions gets in front. This is especially helpful if your sofa sits in a sunny spot. Even the most colorfast fabrics will fade over time, but rotating the pieces will help slow that process and keep the fading more even.
Cleaning instruction
Cleaning your sofa is simple. Both the mattresses and the cushions have removable covers that can be unzipped and washed in the washing machine at an absolute maximum of 30°C. Washing should always be done with the covers zipped up and inside out. Don’t do tumble drying or ironing, and also don’t use bleach or harsh chemicals.
The metal frame can be wiped clean with a damp cloth – no need for anything fancy there.
If you spill:
If you’ve spilled something on the sofa, it’s important to act quickly and spot-clean the area to prevent the spill from soaking through to the foam mattress underneath. Start by soaking up as much of the spill as possible using a dry cloth or paper towel. Don’t rub – just dab carefully to absorb the liquid.
Use a mix of water and a small amount of clear soap (like dish soap) and wet the entire stained area lightly. Then dab it up again with a clean, dry cloth. Repeat as needed.
After cleaning, make sure the area is fully dry before using the sofa again, especially if some moisture reached the mattress underneath.
If it is a stubborn stain and you don’t get the desired result by spot-cleaning, you can wash the affected cover in the washing machine following the instructions above.
