What’s included:
When you receive your Teddy sofa, you will receive the following:
- 2 boxes with mattresses
- 4 removable velcro pieces attached underneath the mattresses (2 pieces on each mattress)
- 1 box with 2 corner cushions
- 1 box with metal bars
Please ensure that you have received all parts before starting assembly.
Metal bars:
Before assembling your sofa, you need to prepare the metal bars. The metal bar system is designed for easy assembly by simply screwing the small straight metal pipes onto the ends of the main metal bars. Once you’ve done this for all of them, the metal bars are ready to use.
Assembly and place the metal bars as follows:
- Small bars on each side
- Large bar at the back
Note: The thread is not fixed to the metal pipes and can move between the large and small pipes when unscrewing them. However, this does not affect the function of the metal bars.
How to assemble the sofa
- Arrange the metal bars as described above in the area where you want to place your sofa.
- Place one mattress on top of the metal bars, then stack the second mattress on top of the first. The mattresses are identical, so it doesn’t matter which one goes on top.
- You can now adjust the metal bars, so they fit snugly around the mattresses. The bars function similarly to bookends and can also be inserted under the sofa after stacking. However, if placing the sofa against a wall, it’s easier to position the metal bars first.
- Place the two corner cushions on each end of the top mattress. These cushions are also identical.
- Ta-da – your sofa is now ready!
From sofa to bed:
To convert your sofa into a bed, simply slide the top mattress down and place it in front of the bottom mattress. To prevent the mattresses from sliding apart, you can connect them using the velcro pieces included with your sofa. Here’s how:
(Mattresses seen from below)
- ‘Loop side’ of Velcro sewn onto the backside of the mattress fabric.
- ‘Hook side’ movable Velcro pieces to connect mattresses.
Protecting your floor
As with any piece of furniture, it is your responsibility to protect your floors. We do not cover any damage caused to flooring by our products. Therefore, we always recommend using felt pads under the metal bars—just as you would with other furniture.
If you have slippery floors or have placed your sofa on a smooth surface, the metal bars may slide a bit during use. To address this, we offer an anti-slip product called Teddy Grip, which can be ordered separately to help keep the bars securely in place.
As an added benefit, Teddy Grip also provides extra floor protection – a convenient two-in-one solution.
Please note: That the metal bars sliding a bit is a rare occurrence, but the solution is available if needed.
